Corinthians Make Bid for Tevez

It has been reported that Brazilian club Corinthians have made a a bid to sign wantaway Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez. The figure is thought to be in excess of £30 million. However it is likely that it will be rejected as it falls below the £50 million price tag put upon the 27-year-old forward.

Tevez, who was influential in City gaining their first silverware in 35 years, would return to the club where he had most of his early career success between 2004-2006. If this transfer is successful, it would almost treble the £13.7 million south american transfer record, set by Tevez in his transfer to Corinthians from Boca Juniors.

However this is seen as an ambitious bid as City are holding out for £50 million in order to help their persuit of 23-year-old Sergio Aguero from Athletico Madrid. With Athletico holding out for around a £45 million figure, Tevez seems more likely to make a move into eurpoe, however, not with Inter Milan as they withdrew thier interest in the striker earlier in the week.
